Week in Review at TPBP

Hello Dear Friends,

I sure hope you enjoyed this wonderful week.  For me, it was a weel filled with new and fun experiences.

First, TPBP participated in their first blog hop to help launch the spring issue of PaperHaus, an amazing online magazine.  The hop is going on for a week so you have lots of time to visit the many participating blogs and enter to win some pretty cool prizes.  Check our post just below this one.  Another first this week was our first advertisement, which you will find in this spring issue of PaperHaus!

The next new activity was putting the final touches on the store.  We've been sanding and painting furniture, hanging and filling shelves and enjoying every exhausting moment of it all.  I can't wait to open the doors and have you all visit on Friday, March 8, 10am-5pm at 37485 Niles Blvd, Fremont CA.  We are open Wed thru Sunday.

Here are pictures of the store coming together.  What do you think?
We will have fun surprises through out Grand Opening Day, but want to make sure that you know the time of the make and take: 11am-1pm  and 2pm-4pm. Our make and take supplies will be limited, so first come, first served.

While I was away at the store, my talented Design Team has once again created a selection of projects to inspire our followers.  If you missed the posts on Facebook, you can catch-up here:

Juliana
In Juliana's trim-filled shadow box you'll find that her shabby chic style meets vintage and they compliment each other beautifully. This piece is a feast for the eyes so you will definitely want to watch Juliana's video for all of the details.

More project details here:  Blog | Video

Miranda
If Miranda book had a title, it might be "Metal Meets Lace in a Very Pretty Place." It would be a pleasure to read and a wonderful place to rest your gaze.

Watch the video to see how that cool embossed look is created. You might be surprised to see what she used.

More project details here:  Blog | Video

Char
Time will certainly seem like it's flying when you are enjoying Char's winged dress form that's adorned with a clock and all dressed-up with our elegant trims, laces and candy gems.

Char shares all the details in her video, you won't want to miss it.

Week in Review at The Piece by Piece

We had a lot of activity over at The Piece by Piece this week.  While our Design Team created project to inspire our online followers and shoppers, many of the details required to open our brick & mortar store really took off this week.
A big step in opening our doors for business is receiving the keys to the doors and it happened this week.  It was so exciting to unlock the door to a blank canvas that will soon be filled with art and craft supplies to inspire creativity for many people to come.

And, while we work to fill the store, we are working to fill our store calendar with instructors who will bring you amazing paper crafting classes.  We've  already booked the following list of designers to come teach:
More information about each workshop will be coming soon, but in the mean time save the date and look forward to some enjoyable time at the craft table.

Over the next few weeks I will be working withe my interior designer to decorate the store in a very French Country theme and I will work with a number of vendors to stock the shelves.  More news to follow on our grand opening, so please keep an eye on the blog and facebook for updates.

This week's designers created amazing projects ranging in style form shabby chic to vintage.  Each one is beautifully unique and a feast for the eyes.  Enjoy each one listed below and I encourage you to click on the links to see the videos and designer blog posts for all of the project details, including a supply list of what was used on each project.

Linda
Linda's beautifully collaged sketch book is going to make a wonderful gift for a very lucky person! This is one of those lovely pieces of art that you can look at multiple times and see something new each time. We love how Linda coupled the Graphic 45 vintage papers with our laces, they compliment each other perfectly.

More project details here:  blog | video

Miranda
Miranda's book stack is filled with hidden drawers, photo frames and shadow boxes that are just as sweet as can be. She adorned this shabby chic trio with ribbon, fabric flowers and resin pieces from our Etsy shop.

More project details here: blog | video

Tiffany
Wondering what to do with those configuration boxes you might have hanging around your craft room? Well, Tiffany, TPBP designer, has adorned hers with our beautiful lace and a few other goodies as well. Take a look at her video tutorial for all the details.

Introducing DT Member Gina Ortiz

It's always a Happy Friday here at my home, even if it's a cloudy and wet one :o)
Remember how I mentioned how we have 2 Designers?  Well today is the day I introduce you to a lady whom you may have already gotten to know through the years.

MS. GINA ORTIZ

Here's a Scoop on her Crafty Bio:
Hi, my name is Gina, also known as Scrappinology in the scrap book world. I reside in California.  I have been crafting since I was a child and scrapbooking before there were scrapbook supplies to be had.  I used to spend hours cutting images from gift wrap paper to use to adorn my pages of my albums.  Now I have more supplies than I know what to do with. (But hey, don’t we all?) I cannot wait to play with all the products that are in The Piece by Piece shop.  I love all kinds of crafting but I would say mini books and altered items are by far my favorite.  I have not been published, but I did win first place in a Martha Stewart Be Inspired contest and another on line site where I also won first place.  I own an online social Scrapbooking website My Scrap Room.  Thanks Beverly for this amazing opportunity to create for you and with the rest of the team!

Wow... 1st place well deserved Gina!! Your work seems to mimic perfection!!!

Check out these burlap  note pockets with matching greeting cards inside!!

For more details... be sure to check out her video by

Thank you so much for visiting today and be sure to check out who our next Guest DT to be featured!!

My Lace Banner and Trunk Show Photo's

Good morning everyone.  Today I would like to share with you some projects that I made for one of my best friend's bridal shower/ bachelorette.
The other photo's below of the Crafter's Trunk Show that I've been hosting locally in my area.

First off, take a look at the Banner I made.  I used Fabric squares from a Fabric Swatch Book.  I used by Cricut Machine to cut out the letters, which I then inked and embossed with white embossing powder.

I attached the lace to the fabric squares to give it more length and interest to the banner.
The flowers are from IAMROSES.

The next project below are pins that I made for the girls to wear on our Napa Wind Tasting.  The Bride to Be got to chose which names each of us girls were to be called for the day.  It was a hit!!

I used the pleated black trim that we carry at our Shop.

On the Tin Container below, I used vintage lace that I hot glued around at the top and bottom.  I then, used a die from Spellbinders and cut out the papers and layered them.  The letter "S" was a font that I printed out on my Word Document.  Flower from IAMROSES.

Now... here are some photo's I would like to share of our Crafter's Trunk Show that was held in November and December 2012.  It was a lot of work, but so much fun at the same time.  I met some awesome crafters locally in my area.  I can't wait to do it again soon.
